Eric is an associate at Ross Barristers with a general civil, commercial and regulatory litigation practice. Prior to joining Ross Barristers in 2019, Eric spent more than three years at a commercial litigation firm in Toronto. During his articles, he clerked for the judges of the Superior Court in Toronto, and also clerked for a judge of the Quebec Court of Appeal while in law school.
Eric has acted for individuals and corporations in a variety of civil and criminal matters, including oppression remedy claims and shareholders’ disputes, directors’ and officers’ liability, professional negligence, class actions, defamation, real estate development, and fraud. He has experience bringing and responding to injunctions and other urgent relief. He has represented individuals in regulatory investigations by the Ontario Securities Commission, the Mutual Fund Dealers Association, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, and successfully represented an individual in a long securities fraud trial.
Eric regularly appears in the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice (including the Commercial List), and the Ontario Court of Appeal.
Eric holds a BCL/LLB (2014), MA (2010) and BA (2008) from McGill University. He was called to the Bar in 2015 and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Advocates’ Society, the Toronto Lawyers’ Association, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Criminal Lawyers’ Association.
